Well the hospital said it was a urinary infection {a long time ago} sent me home with antibiotics. Must be nearly 4 weeks since I started to feel unwell. I had to go to the doctor a couple of days ago because I still had all the symptoms.
He has said I have to go for a colonoscopy......JOY OF JOYS!!!!!!!! I know some of you have been through this...I have 5 years ago. He also said that it warranted a 2 week referral because it was serious......Doesn't sound very good !!!!!
I should hear soon but am not looking forward to it at all.
The other thing is my knee and back of knee is very sore.
He looked at that while I was there and thinks its a pulled hamstring the cause being the way I walk now...{on crutches}
So waiting for an appointment from the physiotherapist.
Well that's me for the minute.
Falling to pieces!!!!

Love
Hileena

    Oh, Hileena, you are having a rough time. I wish you all the best with the colonoscopy. I had one three years ago, so I know it's not exactly something to look forward to. On the plus side, hopefully, it will find a reason for your problems and you can get some treatment. I think doctors always use the two-week referral when somebody gets to a certain age, just in case. My last colonoscopy was a two-week referral and the ultimate diagnosis was IBS, so the tests are often to rule things out.

    I know what you mean about falling to pieces. I think we're about the same age - 69? I have various bits of me playing up, too. I no sooner get one bit sorted out than something else decides to drop off!

    Take care of yourself.

    Thanks Meg
    I hope it does find the reason for this and gets rid of these awful symptoms.....I'm carrying wipes, spare panty liners and goodness know what else wherever I go.
    You are probably right about the 2 week referral
    You are also right about the age.....69. 70 come May but not there yet :lol:
    How are you coping with your IBS?
    Anyway it could be anything but it has an advantage being a 2 week referral .....not the usual waiting around for an appointment

    Oh dear, enough already, yes? :x Things continue to happen independent of the arthritis, which is mightily unfair because we already have enough to cope with. I am so sorry you have to go through this, Mr DD had one back in 2013 and he reckoned that drinking all the preparation liquid was the hardest part.

    I won't be around too much next week but I will be thinking of you. Look after yourself - and be kind to yourself, that's important. DD

    Oh dear! No-one likes colonoscopies but, like Mr DD, I do find the hardest part is getting all the necessary liquid prep down in the allotted time. Now, if it were tea....or wine... :D

    I'd completely misunderstood this thread. I'd thought it was a chest infection that you had not a bowel one. No wonder you were off your food and drink.

    I think they're doing the right thing by investigating further, unappealing though it is. This needs sorting, doesn't it?

    Popsmith – I hope you make a quick recovery. I think we can be too ready to attribute all our problems to arthritis and its meds. Sometimes stuff just happens, as it does to everyone else.

    Oh well I've had one before so this one will be a normal......as your hubby says its drinking the foul stuff that is the worse bit of it although I'm not looking forward to the results??????
    I've also got {what the GP says is} a pulled hamstring and on top of everything else its agony.
    I know......once one joint goes others go as well :lol:
    Oh well......it will come and it will go
    Have a nice time next week

    Hi Sticky
    Yes it does need investigating regardless of the results.
    You say wine or tea....change tea for coffee :lol:

    How are things now, Hileena? I don't supposed the possible hamstring is any better but how are you feeling in yourself?

    Hi Sticky
    I'm eating a bit better and planning to go out now {no volunteering or anything like that...yet!!} but that's a start.
    We have a coffee stop at church on a Tuesday morning. I usually help at it but not tomorrow but thinking of going to it and having a coffee and chatting.
    Still waiting for the physio appointment, also waiting for the appointment for the colonoscopy....its about a week ago he mentioned it and said it would be a two week referral so I'm waiting for that appointment as well.
    Oh well.....we get used to waiting for appointments don't we :lol:

    That sounds a bit better and I think it's a good plan to go for coffee but not to help. (It will be difficult :wink: ) I hope the appointment comes up soon.

    Hi
    Well got a call from a nurse today. GP says he wants me to have a colonoscopy, but the consultant wants an appointment to have a talk???
    I queried this because the last time I was sent in it was straight for a colonoscopy {you would think I really wanted to have it :lol: }
    She said we don't do it like that any longer, the consultant wants to see the patient, have a talk and see if that is the way to go.
    I suppose if you think about it GP referred me for this and he's a GP......knows a LITTLE about a lot of things whereas its a consultant who wants to talk to me......he knows a LOT about a few things {his specialised things}
    Does that make sense????
    We'll have to see what happens from here and does he have any other ideas

    I think it's just procedure. I've had to see the consultant before mine. And after. Last time, I'd to have both ends done :wink: but the consultant added in a CT scan. Good luck.

    Hi Sticky
    Last time {5 years ago} I had both ends done as well LOL
    but it was straight into to it and that was it.
    Yesterday the nurse told me that it was a change in the past few years. They thought the consultant might have a better idea if that was the way to go. Oh well......will find out

    That makes sense to me, why undergo something if it's not truly needed? That's a waste of your time and their resources. Let us know what he has to say. Good luck! DD
