dose anyone suffer from this and what sort of symptoms do you get.
Since having inflamed bursa's on both elbows one after the other, I have been having having painful episodes of pain in the top of both arms from shoulder to elbow, and am finding some things harder to lift if they are a bit heavy. if i'm in pain with my arms. sort of wondered if I now have arthritis creeping into arm joints too. thanks in advance for any advice :)

Yep that sounds about right, pain down the arms, a sort of numbing pain, limited movement of the shoulders and don't lean on them in bed! Everything seems to cause pain and as for using them, forget it. Something else to add to the list.

OA in the elbows is rare, saying that I do get pain from using them.

I use wheatbags and painkillers and by being very careful with them. Swimming is at 1mph and no overarm stroke, breast only, if I alternate with lying on my back and kicking I can do a few lengths, not in lanes though, I get in the way of others.

I've given up with the motor mower, can't start it, electric is better. Crowds in the high street are worse, I can't get out of their way or change direction very quickly so they just barge into my shoulders and I get left with that numbing pain that carries on.

    Any other treatments?

My Lucy has avascular necrosis in the rt shoulder (as well as rthip).

She feels the pain at the back of the joint and it also radiates downwards.

She can't lift her arm above shoulder height. We use Wheaties and try hard to avoid painkillers codeine is here though as and when. She isn't allowed anti-inflams due to the leukaemia.

At 18 we are loath to do too much until she sees the specialist.

Take it steady Carol (and everyone else)

Funniest thing was when I was in a airport queues and asked to take my belt off and hold my arms up, I took my belt off and held onto my trousers the security man came over and shouted at me to hold my arms up, I shouted I can,t and if I did my trousers would fall down, the other passengers saw the funny side!

Toni that sounds real painful hope the specialist can do something for her soon I already take co-dydramol and naproxyn anyway for knee and back pain due to the OA in a way this new problem is not that bad at the moment it is not constant just sharp pains down right arm every now and then and it seems to go off in a few moments the left arm just aches on occasions. think i'm just falling apart ha ha
Airwave I could just picture that it reminded me of being in an airport on way home from hols my Husband had to take off his belt to do through the scanner and we had both been working to loose weight and he had to do the same walked through scanner holding his trousers up, and they then wanted him to take his camera bag back take everything out and put them all through again

Oh very good Carol!! What is it with men looking suss at airports? My husband gets stopped every time too!!

Lucy is really struggling Carol with her shoulder and she's training to be a hairdresser :(

Ya boo maybe she can take anti-inflams once she's off chemo I hope.

When mine plays up I lie in bed almost on my front and lie my arm on a pillow with my wheatie on it
