I have wear and tear joint pain in many joints however right now my hips are the most concerning issue. I developed bursitis in one hip and I had 2 cortisone injections to facilitate the pain, it returns with a vengence. I can’t even sleep and it pains all the time. My specialist says that it's something or other and I have to get used to it as will 'have it for quite a while yet'. I take a large amount of nefopam everyday as it is the only known pain killer which fights against arthritis. How effectively a physiotherapic treatment will work against arthritis? One of my friends suggested to Physiomed. What are your opinion? Have a look [Canadian commercial web site link removed] and suggest me please. Or any other ideas? It’s not at all feeling good to sit in home all the time, I wanna get rid of this stress.

Hello and welcome from me too. I haven't heard of the drug you mention. I don't think it's used in UK. And steroid injections have a limited use. Unfortunately we have to learn to live with OA but there is much that we can do for ourselves to make life easier and we don't need to spend a lot of money on experimental stuff. Of you click on the 'Managing Arthritis' tab qbove you'll get lots of good information including suggestions for exercises. Good luck.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Pain killers don't 'fight' the arthritis, they dull the sharper edges of the pain which always returns no matter what measures we take against it. Any form of arthritis is degenerative and progressive but the rate of both varies from person to person. Physio is good for keeping muscles as strong and flexible as possible but it won't address the underlying cause of the disease, whether it's OA or one of the many kinds of auto-immune inflammatory conditions.
Arthritis can be an isolating condition so it's up to us to ensure that we keep in touch with friends and get out and about as much as we can. I wish you well. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
