I haven't seen you around much recently. I hope all is well and you are able to have a lovely, relaxing birthday. :hammock:
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Thank you so much, Barbara, Ellen and Sticky. It's a biggy this time - 70! We've just got back from holiday, so, I'm still trying to catch up with the washing and the forum!
I'm off to see the hand surgeon this afternoon - what a nice birthday present - so may find out what he wants to do about my thumbs. I'm hoping he will give me an injection into the right one, but think he may suggest surgery for the left.
Apart from that, a friend will be calling round this morning, my sons have sent gifts and phoned and a different friend is taking me out for a special lunch at the weekend. All good.
At what age does one feel grown-up, do you think? :?

Thank you, Toni, Theresa and Mig. Well, we were at the hospital for two hours this afternoon, although it felt longer! The outcome was that the consultant gave me a steroid injection into my right thumb and I'm down to have a trapeziectomy on the left thumb in the next few months.
Very nice young man - with the emphasis on 'young'! He's a hand specialist and very easy to talk to, so I've got confidence it will all be OK. At least I should, eventually, get rid of this constant pain. So I'm off now to look back through posts about trapeziectomy.
Our son sent a large, iced birthday cake from Betty's, which is absolutely scrumptious. I'm a very lucky lady, I know.
