I apologise for 'shouting' but I believe this is so vital for all of us.
Please read our webmanager's latest thread on the news forum (Charities urge the Prime Minister to tackle the care crisis).
Then read the letter it contains signed by Arthritis Care's own Chief Exec plus many other heads of charities.
Then click on the link and sign it yourself.
This is so important for all of us. If we complain about (lack of) services etc - and, let's face it, we all do - then we must be prepared to put our signatures where our mouths are (if you get my drift). This is our chance to try to get a proper solution. Please take it.

If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

As my son has just pointed out to me, I now live in Scotland which has a completely devolved NHS  Still a mess but a Scottish mess not governed by Westminster. The petition only requires a UK address, not an English one but maybe those not resident in England should refrain from signing. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Added my signature, its about time the Government stopped burying their heads in the sand and started to listen."Stoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast"0

Will doHe did not say you will not be storm tossed, you will not be sore distressed, you will not be work weary. He said you will not be overcome.

Signed, of course.
Things are dire in adult social care and I work in a relatively wealthy local authority. The cuts are....hardcore. People are waiting weeks at home without carers or stuck in Care homes for "respite" simply because we can't get home care. Hospitals are discharging sicker patients who otherwise should be in hospital.
Grants for things like cookers are completely gone. I had to beg beg beg my manager to buy a heater for a woman whose small radiator in her bedsit was not keeping her warm enough. She is in her 70s and has a serious neurological condition which means she cannot walk. It's January and snowing! How is happening?! (By the way, for privacy, I've changed details about this person.)0 -
Thankyou SW will go and sign it right now..Love

Thank you everyone. I see there are already almost 8,500 signatures. At 10,000 the government must respond and, at 100,000 must consider it for debate in parliament. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Done!!!! Really think we all need to badger the government about the sorry state of our underfunded and struggling NHS/social care sectors-they are a real treasure that need all of our care(sorry-bit of a hobby horse-I'll pipe down now)

Those who submitted the petition have now been waiting 4 days for a government response. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
