    Hi Harrycat29,

Welcome to the forum - how lovely of you to help your Mum, she is a lucky lady.

You might find it helpful to have a little look at the arthritiscare.org.uk website

here's a link to a booklet about arthritis of the hand

    https://www.arthritiscare.org.uk/assets/000/001/245/OAhandfactsheet2015_original.pdf?1447423309

For phone use I sometimes use a pencil with a rubber on the end and I tap with the rubber so it doesn't slip. My landline has a phone book and that is easy to use. For mobile calls I now have a touch screen which I also find OK though I also use a 'pen' to tap in specific places.

Do feel able to use the site - you are most welcome - sometimes it's nice for you to have a place where you can relax, talk through any worries you have re your Mums arthritis without worrying her too

    Take care

    Hi Harrycat29

Many thanks for your post, I hope Yvonne’s response was helpful for you, she gave some great tips for your mum. You could also contact the Disabled Living Foundation http://www.dlf.org.uk/ Helpline: 0300 999 0004 who offer independent and impartial on phones.
You could also try your local retail and mobility shops who may be able to help.

If at any point your mum would like to talk to us on our Freephone Helpline: 0808 800 4050 (weekdays 9.30-5) she would be very welcome to call.

    I hope this is helpful.
    Best wishes
