Song for a flare up ...apologies Simon & Garfunkel

I've been struggling with my psoriasis arthritis recently and was given an appointment today at hospital outpatients to help manage a bad flare with a Depo Modrone injection IM.
Whilst waiting for the doctor this song came into my head, with slightly altered lyrics!
Apologies to Simon and Garfunkel, but this is for all of you!
'The 'Sound ' of Depo Modrone'
Hello steroids , my old friend,
I've come to take you once again
Because the pain that's softly creeping
Left its seeds whilst I was sleeping
And the pain, that was planted in my brain, still remains
And so I beg, for steroids
And how I dream to walk painfree
And once again be the 'old me'
I try so hard to do without the pills
Avoid the drugs that make me feel so ill
And I try, to be happy and carefree
A better me
But still I beg, for steroids
'Folks' I say 'You do not know'
'Constant pain can make you low'
'Hear my words that I might teach you'
'Take my arms that I might reach you' (gently)
For my tears, like silent raindrops fall
As I wait, to accept, my steroids
PS I got them....hope they kick in soon!

Oh, Trisha, a great take on one of my old favourites. Well done, though I'm sorry about the inspiration behind it
I hope the steroids kick in soon, too.
Please copy your song onto the poetry thread on Chit Chat then it will remain handy for all to see.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

The Depo has kicked in and I'm feeling almost human today.....shame it can't last forever but I'm enjoying the moment!

Keep on enjoying it. I hope it lasts a reasonable amount of time.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Thank you so much for these verses. I identify with the words, though I begged for naproxen not steroids. The doctor begged me to stop begging.
I wish my friends would stop looking for the 'old' me; I think she's gone now but the 'new' me is calmer and kinder and has good points too. I've written out your words to keep on hand. Good days or bad they have value for me :-)
Thanks again, Sue T0
