total knee replacement

Hi i have just had a pre assessment for a total knee replacement and i am feeling a bit scared. has anyone had the experience of a replacement/ I would welcome any advise Cheers

Hi, I haven't but very many have - you may gain more replies if you post again on the Living with Arthritis forum as that is where most people look in and where we usually deal with surgery and appointments. I was refused knees aged 52 because I was too young - a backhanded compliment if ever there was!
I have had much surgery and yes, it can be a daunting prospect, but I have always held the view that it's meant to help, improve and sort matters and, to date, it always has. I wish you well. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
