Hello
Welcome to the forum. I am sure you will find dupport, help, advice and friendship here. There are lots of others on this forum that have had problems with their knees and I expect that they will be able to assure you about your forth coming procedure.
Arthritis Care produce a booklet - Surgery and arthritis - which you may be interested to look at. It is at:

Good luck with your operation. Please keep us up to date with your arthritis.

Hello GrandmaS and welcome.
I think this is the removal of crystals, possibly due to gout or pseudo gout. Am I right? If so, it's not a common topic on here but UI've found you a former thread http://tinyurl.com/kg54rxn . Maybe, if you re-post on the Living With Arthritis forum, someone with experience of it will see and reply. Good luck with the opIf at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hello GrandmaS
I don't know if this might help, but I popped Chondrocalcinosis into the search engine on Arthritis Research Uk and got this:

Might be worth a look?
Bets of luck
