Hello, this is my first post on here. I've been recently diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis at 18, and am looking to connect with people who are of a similar age and are experiencing arthritis too. I've started Sulfasalazine but stopped taking it due to coming up in bad heat rashes whilst taking it, which I've been told is a possible allergic reaction. Has anyone experienced anything similar whilst taking sulfa? Thanks guys:)

Hello alienxgirl and welcome to the forums from the moderation team.

I am very sorry to hear about your diagnosis Psoriatic Arthritis

I attach a link to Arthritis Care’s information about Psoriatic Arthritis in case you haven’t yet read it:

You mention rash when you took sulfasalazine? I will let the forum members tell you about their own experience on it, but in the meantime this is Arthritis Research UK’s information on the medication. It does refer to rashes as being a possible early side-effect.

We have a great community here, who have lots of experience of arthritis. The busier forums tend to be ‘Living With Arthritis’ and’ Chit Chat’. If you don’t get a great response on here it may well be worth re-posting - probably on the Living with Arthritis Forum.

I look forward to seeing you posting in future.

    Best wishes

Hi nice to meet you. You mentioned you wanted to connect with others your age who have arthritis so I was thinking you might like to come to one of the events Arthritis Care holds for 12-18 year olds. The link to the information about the next event in England coming up is here - https://www.arthritiscare.org.uk/our-services-and-support/events/1456-young-peoples-family-event-london. If you do not live in England you could have a browse at the events in other areas too. Hope to see you there if you don't live too far :)
