Pocket duties required

If anyone is free next Thursday (23rd) at 3:30pm to attend pocket duties for my MRI review with my Ortho consultant, I'll appreciate it.
Hopefully I'll find out what is exactly wring with my knee, and see where it goes from there.

Count me in too. Really hope it goes well and you come out with a plan of action. He did not say you will not be storm tossed, you will not be sore distressed, you will not be work weary. He said you will not be overcome.

I'll be thinking of you: on past experience I would say don't build your hopes up too high, it's far better to be mildly pleased and surprised than bitterly disappointed and crushed. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

I'm in. I hope the scan will prove useful. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Slight typo, it's on the 28th not the 23rd. Have no idea why I put the 23rd "Stoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast"0

Thinking about you today Alastair..and hope this leads to some treatment very soon..Love
Barbara0 -
First of all thank you for those that managed to attend, and now to the rest. Turns out I don't have arthritis, but actually it's chondromalacia patellae (this is where the knee cap is not aligned properly and rubs on the femur), and it's obvious, in that when my left leg is bent, the knee cap veers left, and this is the cause of the inflammation/pain.
I'm going to have physio, to see if that can build up the muscle strength on the inner side of my knee cap, and thus re-aligning it.
If that fails, then it's definitely surgery (i/e arthroscopy).
Guess that means I'll no longer be here, and hopefully all should be sorted with the treatment options. So I'd like to thank everyone for their support, and wish everyone the best. It has truly been a pleasure to get to know you all.

Hi Alastair...first of all no need to leave us ..or pop in now and then to let us know how you are doing..
I am pleased you have got some answers..no wonder you are in pain....now fingers crossed the physio will help loads..wishing you well with it all..Love

I'm delighted you've got an answer and it sounds as if you have something that can be treated and, dare I say it, cured.
But please don't leave us. Pain is pain is pain and you have always been an asset to the forum in the way you support others.
Do keep us informed. And good luck!If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Alastair I am so glad you know what is actually wrong now although if physio doesn't work the outcome will be very similar in terms of surgery?
Your GP might feel a bit silly now diagnosing you with arthritis although I suspect if it carries on the consequence could still be the same as in bone damage surely?
So I agree with the others - no disappearing for you! You are a great forum member so supportive of others we would miss you!

Hi Alaistair
Like everyone else...........you are not leaving
Apart from anything else you can support others.
See you soon
Love

Crikey! An answer that isn't arthritis and can possibly be fixed? It shoulda been me!
Alastair, I am delighted for you, what wonderful news. Please don't feel you no longer belong, the fact that you have been (and still are) in pain helps you to understand how difficult it can be for others. Please keep in touch, let us know how you get on and I hope to see your name on here every now and again. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
Don't you dare leave or I shall convene an emergency coven meeting to put a spell on you to make you stay. Mig0
