Keith Chegwin has died of a lung condition at the young age of 60.

    In a statement, the entertainer's family told PA: "We are heartbroken to share the news that Keith Chegwin sadly passed away following a long-term battle with a progressive lung condition, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, which rapidly worsened towards the end of this year.

    "Keith died peacefully at home shortly after midnight on the 11th of December. His wife Maria, his daughter Rose and his son Ted were by his side.

    Far too young to lose anyone. We seem to have lost quite a few celebrities in their sixties this year.

    Hedonism is a shared theme with the younger ones - I expect the Osmonds will last for years thanks to the health-giving properties of 7Up. DD
