Today is the nadir of the year: the shortest day and the longest night. Tomorrow the world starts to turn towards summer - hurrah! :D DD

    and not a day too soon! I note that the rooks are gathering in the trees, sparrows in the forsythe arch and I cleaned all the windows today, it must be something in the air! :D

    Both winter and summer always seem to come early but it's good that we'll all be 'lightening up'.
    If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

    My bulbs are pushing through, the roses have buds on them, the grass needs cutting - :shock: - ah, the gardening joys of mid-December!

    I don't mind the darker days of winter (if it doesn't move it's covered in fairy lights and candles glow) but I definitely feel the psychological lift on December 22nd. DD
