I read that Apple are proposing these. Why? Who needs them? Disability isn't an emotion, it's a fact. My friends, docs, social services etc know I'm disabled. It's no-one else's business. Plus, using a disabled emoji does not make someone disabled. So, why?

Is it because so many live their lives via social media and not by more normal social means?

I saw these in the press, I don't feel a need for them but maybe younger folk do. As far as I am concerned what I do online does not reflect my physical limitations so why draw attention to them?
