I am new to this forum. I have had rheumatoid arthritis since I was about 23 and I am now 56.
I have recently had a couple of bad flare ups. Thankfully I have had my medication changed and it seems to have settled.

I now inject weekly. I work full time and long hours and I am now able to cope with that and family life.

Hello, I have psoriatic and osteoarthritis, I also inject weekly with methotrexate and fortnightly with humira, one of the anti TNFs. I began aged 37, I am now 59 and thankfully retired, I would still like to work but my concentration span is woeful (I was a specialist tutor for dyslexics so needed patience - that's a thing of the past too).

I hope you find the forum to be of interest, we all get it because we've all got it. I am pleased your flare has settled and I hope the meds regimen keeps things under better control. I still flare despite the medication but usually in the summer which does not surprise me, my immune system is under increase attack then thanks to pollens, grasses and all the other 'delights' that summer offers. I was born with eczema and developed asthma aged seven so this is all more of the same (except the OA, that was a shock: for some reason I thought that once you had one kind of arthritis that would be it.). My OA worsens when I've over-done things so I can control that but it also reacts to cold and damp weather which I cannot control - as usual it's s a lose-lose situation. DD

Hello and welcome from me, too. It's good to hear the the meds seem to have got on top of your flares. I have RA too, have had for many years and I know it makes such a difference when the meds work - without too many side effects. If there's anything we can try to help you with please just ask.
