Thumb surgery, trapizectomy

I have rheumatoid and oesteo arthritis, had trapizectomy last monday so 8 days ago, site where I presume incision has been made is very sore, feel like a burning sensation. I'm back for check and full cast on thursday. Is this sensation usual?

Thanks for your post to the Helpline. With any surgery there can be a chance of nerve pain. If this is something to do with a nerve, then in many cases this may resolve over time. The key thing is to discuss it with someone medically qualified when you see them for your follow-up
