I have osteoarthritis in my left hip and use a variety of strategies to deal with the pain: TENS machine, hot wheatbags, prescribed meds, exercises, swimming, walking poles and the distraction of photography, my passion.
Some drugs are not possible for me to use because of conflict with lithium which I have to take for bipolar disorder.
I would like to get better sleep.

Hello and welcome Purplehaze to Versus Arthritis Community Forum
I'm sorry to read of your pain with osteoarthritis in relation to your hip, coping mechanisms do vary from person to person, you seem to have tried a good variation, trying to find a level with bipolar must be very difficult.
You will find that we do have quite a number of forum users who have had hip operation who will share some help, advice and support.
I've found you an osteoarthritis link that may be of help:-

Can I also suggest giving our experienced Helplines a call 0800 520 0520
Enjoy the forum
