Hi and thank you for accepting me on this
Forum. I have Psoriatic Arthritis and this has caused me to be a part-time wheelchair user. Is there a good exercise program for me to use - or should I just be sticking to physio exercises given prior to lockdown?

    Hi Bagpuss

welcome to the forum, it is lovely to have you here. Like you I have psoriatic arthritis and these days I am a full time wheelchair user. I would certainly recommend using the physio exercises you were recommended before the lock down as these will clearly be good for you. After that there is this advice on the physiotherapy website. I think just be sure you feel confident to try an exercise before doing it as you don't want to fall over or set off a flare. These exercises are aimed at managing pain but they may help. I also looked up wheelchair exercises on You Tube

Let us know how you get on and which exercises you find useful

    Best Wishes

Hello, I have PsA, OA and fibro, have a chair but don't use it unless things are truly extreme. I exercise daily but have had the benefit of recently working with a personal trainer, doing resistance work. I have some good quality latex loops and use those to build and maintain muscle strength. I also do post-op exercises dating back to 2002 and others that have been given by physios for other issues such as plantaar fasciitis and Achilles tendonitis. DD

Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben
