Hi, I'm new to the forum. Hoping I'm in the right place for this! I'm 62 years of age, was diagnosed with Cervical Spondylosis in my 30's, and have suffered with back pain for most of my adult life. However, I have been fobbed off with the usual 'wear and tear' and made to feel like my pain wasn't real. I have resisted medications and used excercise and relaxation to help me cope. I now have alot of pain in most of my joints, especially hands and feet. However, I continue to live my life to the best of my ability and have long ago learned to enjoy the things I can do, and not to focus on the things I can't. It's lovely to be part of this group. Thank you.

    Hi Valerie,

    Welcome to our online community!

I'm so sorry that you have been made to feel like your pain isn't real; I'm sure you will meet others who are able to relate to your experience.

I know you may have no had the best experience so far but as you are in a lot of pain, have you thought about asking to see a different GP that you could discuss your symptoms with?

I have attached a link about living with arthritis which has lots of useful information on managing your symptoms: https://www.versusarthritis.org/about-arthritis/living-with-arthritis/

I also see you have been managing your paint through relaxation techniques and exercise so I have also attached a link about complementary therapies if this is of interest to you: https://www.versusarthritis.org/news/2019/march/complementary-therapies-which-ones-are-right-for-you/

Thank you for being part of our group, I hope you will continue to post in our forums

    Best wishes,

    Vikki
