Motability and Mobile Numbers

This may just be a coincidence.

A few days ago I gave my Mobile number to Motability to update my details for a new car. In the last 2 days I've started getting scam phone calls after 2 years blissful peace (I hardly ever use my Mobile to make calls).

The last time I started getting scam calls was 3 years ago when I last updated my details with Motability.

I very rarely give out my number.

I'd be very interested to know if anyone else is in the same situation?

I have had a few and always block the caller on my mobile. Our landline does get its fair share of scam calls.

If you bring up the number from the call list, press the ‘I’ or info icon then the number will be listed with the chance to block the number. Easy Peasy! Same applies to emails.

Yes, I know how to do that thanks, I'm very seldom contacted by them; what bothers me is that every three years or so my number falls into the hands of a bunch of scammers.
