Methotrexate progress

Hi everyone,

I’ve been taking methotrexate for 6 weeks now and no pain benefits have shown so far. I know it’s a long process but if anything it feels as if the pain that was originally mainly in my hands has “spread” to my shoulders and knees has got worse. And the fact I’m taking the max amount of pain killers (ibuprofen/paracetamol) and have been for a while which isn’t good really I’m guessing😂.

has anyone experienced anything similar to this before?

Methotrexate can take up to 12 weeks before you start to notice any difference. The advice is that you should keep going (!) and also when it starts to work to not stop taking it if you start to feel better 😀
