Hi I'm new on here could you or indeed your members tell me does tumeric help with osteoarthritis or is it just another gimmick. Thanks

There has been some research undertaken about the effectiveness of turmeric in dealing with arthritic pain, and it seems that some people have found benefit from taking it. Below is a page from Versus Arthritis that gives a bit more information.

Other members may have personal experience of using turmeric, so I’ll let them comment. Thank you to Anna for providing the link to turmeric and osteoarthritis. If you haven’t already seen it, you may also find the link to osteoarthritis useful. There you will find a section on managing symptoms which includes information on ways to ease the symptoms of pain and stiffness. There is a section there about under complementary medicine for OA about supplements often used by people with osteoarthritis. You can also see a section on medications which takes you to information about a well-proven complementary medicine for osteoarthritis, called capsaicin cream, that is available on prescription from a GP.
