Looking for Friends
Hello.
Having arthritis throughout my life has left me unable to do things and create friendships. Living alone and in pain has left me very lonely. I was wondering if anyone would like to be pen pals?
As you are all aware. Its hard to socialise abd meet people when you spend 95% of your life in pain in bed.
Hope i get a reply

Good morning @EsmeeMorton
Welcome to the Versus Arthritis forum, here you will find the members are friendly, helpful and empathic. They will answer your questions/queries as they have found them in relation to their own conditions.
It is very difficult to socialise and meet people when you are in pain. On this forum you will find many people who are in a similar position as you are. The Chat section is where peopled posts interest bits of news and sometimes post, in relevant pages photos of their animals and interesting places they have visited. It may help you to look through our forum and see how it helps you to feel more included.
Have you joined any groups or different events that are going on in your area. Also you can find interesting free courses on there if you search. There may be one which appeals to you. I personally have joined an online sketching course which keeps me feeling that I am not useless and there is something I can do. Of course this virus has not helped people with disabilities to find local groups or interests they can join in with as everything has been shut down. Hopefully there is a light at the end of the tunnel and things will gradually get back to "normal".
I look forward to reading your future posts and seeing how you are getting along. Take care
Best wishes
ChrisK

Hi Esmee, I live alone and am virtually housebound and find this site very useful, I log on 3 or 4 times a day to see what is going on, to chat, and even post the occasional photo of my cat!! "Val's Cafe" is a good nattering part of the forum.

Hi Esmee, I don't live alone, my husband is here. But we both have arthritis and are housebound. As Mike has said, Val's Cafe is a good place to visit. I pop in every day and have made some wonderful friends and their pets. Please feel free to join us whenever you wish. All food is calorie free and the kettle is always on, and the welcome is very warm.
