Does this sound like jia?
i came across this forum by googling in frustration of trying to figure out my daughters condition. I have a few questions and I’m hoping you can help. My daughter started having sudden right hip pain 3 weeks ago, after 7 days they did bloodwork, found nothing, inflammation markers were normal. Did an X-ray and ultrasound which we normal. It gotten a little better, but she’s complaining about her legs or arm hurting one day and goes away the next. Mornings are the worse. She still has a limp because of the hip. We are going to do an mri but I’m terrified. Could it be JIA even though initial tests were normal? Does JIA run in the family? no one in my family has it. Do joints have to swell to consider it jia? What was your child’s diagnosis process like?

Hi @Isha486 firstly let me welcome you to the forum I hope you find the information and support you are after from our wonderful community.
I can see from your post that you are concerned about your daughter who is having hip pain and what this may be. It is understandable that you are concerned and hopefully we can point you towards the right information and you and your daughter get some answers.
The site is full of information and I wanted to signpost you to a couple of information leaflets that could help with your query while you wait for the MRI.
Below are a some general leaflets about Juvenile Arthritis (JIA) and one more generally on hip pain.
Please feel free to search the forum for others with similar experiences and I am sure that some of our community will be able to help.
Take care and I hope your daughter gets some relief and answers soon.
Thanks
Joe
