Daughter with polyarticular jia
Hello,
A year ago in June we had a diagnosis of polyarticular jia for our daughter. She is 12. We are now starting to get 'used' to the routine of injections but I have noticed the fatigue and also the mood can be quite low sometimes. I am interested to see if anyone thinks this is related to the medication she is on (methotrexate and adalimumab) or whether this is a feature of jia and something we will need to help her to manage. She is going to school and really enjoying secondary and taking part in some sports activities. Great to have found this site and will be grateful for any advice. Thanks

Hi @Becca44 firstly let me welcome you to the forum I hope you find the information and support you are after from our wonderful community.
I can see from your post that your daughter recently had a diagnosis of polyarticular JIA for which she is taking a number of medications. Your question is related to if the fatigue is related to the condition or to the medication.
Fatigue is a common side effect of both having forms of arthritis and also of a number of the medications, but hopefully we can help you get some answers.
The site is full of information and I wanted to signpost you to some information leaflets that could help, linked to your query both in terms of JIA and medications.
Please feel free to search the forum for others with similar experiences and I am sure that some of our community will be able to help.
Take care and I hope your daughter gets some relief soon.
Thanks
Joe
