Hello
Hi
My 1st post. Was diagnosed with osteoarthritis of my right knee about 6-7 years ago, had an arthroscopy and loose bone was removed. Started on an exercise bike initially and 2-3 years ago started regular swimming (2000 metres a time 3-5 times a week) plus yoga 3-4 times weekly. Started with constant daily right hip pain 16 months ago and X-rays and MRI scan show osteoarthritis in right hip. Due to Covid disruptions eventually got a corticosteroid injection 3 weeks ago which was magic for first 3 days. All the pain has come back now, leg gives way and the pain is the length of my leg, am limited to swimming alone and strong medication, what else can I do?

Hi @AiAi1111 firstly let me welcome you to the forum I hope you find the information and support you are after from our wonderful community.
I can see from your post that you have had Osteoarthritis in your knees for a while and latterly in your hip, and have historically used exercise to help. But the pain is now is bad and exercise / pain medication are not working currently.
The site is full of information and I wanted to signpost you to some information leaflets that could help, linked to as a starter general information on managing pain in your knees, hips and legs; with some further information on relief for Osteoarthritis.
Please feel free to search the forum for others with similar experiences and I am sure that some of our community will be able to help offer some useful suggestions.
Take care and I hope you get some relief and answers soon.
Thanks
Joe
