Newly (probably) diagnosed.
Evening, folks. After at least a week with a painful knee, and comfortably 50 odd years with "dodgy/creaky/stiff" knees, the doctor has as good as confirmed that I have arthritis. Which is strangely a relief, as it now gives me something to focus on dealing with, rather than just a vague, unidentifiable cause of pain. I will pop about here, taking in all the advice I can get and hopefully offering some useful support where I can!!

Welcome to the forum, @Speff.
You have picked up strong vibes from your GP that you have osteoarthritis, though you do not say if any treatment has been recommended.
Here is some information from our website:
I hope you find this information helpful. You will find many others on the forum who have experiences relevant to you. Let us know how you get on.

Hi Speff,
I think knowing what is wrong is half the battle I used to hate the oh well what do you expect at your age then another saying well your not that old.
I have OA in both knees as well as lots of other places but at least I can say well that pain is that reason makes a big difference, I use a combination of heat and cold and only do things I know aren’t going to cause more pain.
The great people here will share their own experience with you so welcome to the club, keep talking it really helps too
take care
love Jona 😊💪
