Welcome to the forum, @KevWilky You do not say if you have been given a formal diagnosis of osteoarthritis, but presumably you have seen your GP as you are taking tramadol.
To help you understand the disease more here are some links from our website together with some pointers for exercise and pain management.
I wish you luck and let us know how you get on.

Hi Kev, have you been referred to a rheumatologist or musculoskeletal consultant? You would probably need to go down this route anyway for steroid injections, as it’ would be done by a surgeon rather than in your GP surgery. You don’t say what joint (s) is affected. I had steroid injection in my hip but sadly it didn’t work for me as I was already bone on bone, but some do find it can give a few months relief, and if it works they may be able to keep reinjecting you until joint replacement is offered. It’s not a particularly unpleasant procedure so it’s certainly worth a try.

Ask your GP for a referral to your local Pain Clinic.
