Arthritic shoulders
Hi I’m Jayne and I have arthritis is both shoulders. I was diagnosed 4 years ago. I have been told both will need replacing but at 57 I’m too young. I have had steroid injections and they tried a nerve block but it didn’t work. Currently I’m taking ibuprofen and paracetamol as I work and I am a carer for my mum so the drowsiness side affect of the other drugs (Baclofen and Nortriptyline) are too severe.
I have physio every 2/3 weeks to try to maintain some mobility and although this is proving expensive it does help
It would be useful to share experiences with any other double shoulder sufferers just to get hints and tips on coping mechanisms. I live in my own so aids to help would also be useful.
Thanks.

Hi @JaynieD, Welcome to the online community!
You've definitely come to the right place if you're looking for people to share their experiences and advice with you, we have many wonderful members and moderators here who will always chip in.
You mention that you have arthritis of the shoulders, and are currently undergoing physio- I'm glad that this helps. Have you spoken to your GP about any other possible medication? I know that this isn't always an option for some, so don't worry- there are always other things to try!
We have some resources here on the website that you may find useful, or could just give you a starting point :
In the meantime, do keep talking to us all on here and feel free to join in with any discussions that you feel comfortable with!
It's lovely to meet you!
Sarah (mod)
