Hi I’m new to this forum.

I’ve been prescribed Amgevita, but I’m a bit worried by the list of side effects. Does anyone have experience of the drug and is it as scary as it sounds?

Hello, @Grazz and welcome to the forum.

I see that you are concerned at taking Amgevita (Adalimumab) which you have been prescribed.

Here is a link to the NHS website, that gives authorative information on this biologic:

If you are concerned at any reaction you get, talk to your specialist. Browsing the forum will yield the experiences of other members.

Best of luck and let us know how you get on.

Thanks, the NHS advice seems less alarmist and I’m trying to balance this against the information leaflet from the drug’s supplier.

Like the NHS, my rheumatologist seemed much more toward the relaxed end of the spectrum, but I guess they try to avoid being too scary.

Other conversations on this site also seem to support that side effects are uncommon, so just trying to fix in my head the reality of the situation.

    Any further comments really welcome,

    Grazz

    Hi Grazz

I've been on Amgevita for 2 months and it's really helping me a lot so far. I too was worried about the side effects etc but knew my PsA really needed sorting out so took the plunge . Touch wood,so far, apart from feeling a bit tired/ headache a few hours after the injection ( which doesn't hurt btw and I'm a needle phobe) I'm ok on it. I really hope it stays this way as I was struggling. Hope it works for you too, please let us know.

    Kaz.

Thanks Kaz, that’s good to hear and really kind of you to take time to let me know your experience.

I hope it continues to work for you. Do keep me updated.

Hi I am new on here as well although I've posted a comment earlier. I think I may have RA as I have trigger fingers and sometimes have to prise them open with hot water. However, I have oesteoarthritis as well in my joints and spine. Is it common to have both? Aria
