Welcome @rambler70_ to the online community,
You mention that you have just been diagnosed with arthritis in your hips and that you are still in shock. Like many of us when we first receive our diagnosis we go through a number of stages whilst we adjust to life with arthritis. You have come to the right place for support and advice, we are a community who offer help, information, opinions, distractions and above all a safe place to express yourself , on good and not so good days.
As a walker you will be pleased to learn that walking and exercise is positively encouraged to keep our muscles and joints as flexible as possible. I attach some links which I hope you will find useful
There are also some exercise courses that you could look at
I hope that once you have had a chance to look at the links that you will come back to us with more questions and ideas for your way forward. You do not mention if you have been prescribed any medication for your condition , the community is a great source of information so any queries you have, we will do our best to answer.
We look forward to hearing from you soon.
Take care
Poppyjane
