Best exercises for when you're having a flare up
What sort of exercises can you do do when you're experiencing a flare up or should you avoid exercising altogether thanks

The rheumatology department I attend has always stressed the importance of keeping moving when you are flaring - I have taken that to mean doing a little exercise and often, as pain and fatigue allow. I was reassured by the specialist rheumatology nurse that exercise would not harm my joints, even if it caused some pain, so long it was gentle and didn't involve impacting the joint.
I'm not suggesting that you take up dancing there is some good advice here -
... and more generally here
I've had rheumatoid arthritis for 15 years and while some some days I struggle to be bothered I try to do some exercise everyday, and I'm pretty sure it has made a positive difference.
very best wishes
