Flare Up
I was diagnosed with rheumatoid connective tissue disease around 6 months ago. I’ve been on a treatment plan of prednisone and hydroxychloquine with the prednisone on a reducing dose from 40mg a day down to 21 the week before last. Then 2 weeks ago it hit me like a brick and I’ve had a huge flare up and am in a lot of pain. Consultant has told me to add another 5mg of prednisone again but it’s not making a difference. I was doing so well and thought I was conquering this thing. Anyone have any advice?

I'm sorry. It's a steep learning curve, isn't it and Prednisolone can be very cruel. It can give us the impression that all is sorted but it's not. It is often given until we get established on Disease Modifying meds. Hydroxychloroquine is one of these but you may need another too. I take it with methotrexate. I think you need to go back to your rheumatologist for advice.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
