Hello ...!!!
Just joined your site. Such a relief to hopefully find some support here..
Has anyone out of desperation due to awful pain for over 3 years, decided enough is enough and defected to a private hospital? I did recently, upshot; I have Osteoporosis in my L hip + low spine L4 & 5 linked to having had Chemo for b.c. in 2006. Need a new hip=£15.000. Will the NHS pay? Have a telephne appt on Monday @ 9.30 to ask a GP at my surgery.
Does anyone also have experience of this?
A friend in Wales got referred to a private hospital, he needs both new hips & in so much pain.
Best wishes Helene

Hello @0Graffitti9 and welcome to the community. We are a friendly and supportive group and I hope that that will be your experience as well.
I understand that you are waiting for a replacement hip and wondering whether to take the private option. Hopefully your GP will be able to advise you. In the meantime have a look at our website which contains some very useful information and a good search function, To help I've put a couple of links in below.
Please let us know how you get on and I hope that others will connect with you to share their experiences as well.
With very best wishes
