4 years down and OA is spreading
I was diagnosed with post traumatic osteoarthritis in 2018. At that time it affected only my left ankle. 2 years later in 2020 i found my left hip and my right ankle started hurting. Now just recently my right hip, both knees, lower back and mid back have started aching as well. The sleepless nights and the flare ups come and go. Its really difficult to seat and watch tv for an hour as it increases the pain in my joints. Life is becoming more complicated as it is hard to distinguish between doing too much and doing too little.

@Macdee73 So sorry to hear about your situation. Are you on any meds to slow down the progression of your condition?

I feel your pain, I’ve been told I need both hips replaced I’ve got oa in both my feet and also the bottom of my back, I just can’t get comfortable to sit and watch tv, I’m still working and my job involves me standing all day, by the time Friday comes around I’m on my knees! I just need a lottery win ! Been told by my surgeon there’s a 2-3 year waiting list.

A quick welcome to @Bevdav123
I don't know whether you have had time to look into surgery for your hip yet, but just in case not do have a look at this:
This thread is by someone else with bilateral hip issues:
Many of the posters are still around and have threads of their own detailing the surgery journeys.
It is very difficult to know how much is too much and how much not enough. You mention sleep being an issue so just popping this in in case it's of use:
Best wishes
Ellen

I am so sorry Bevdav123. I feel the same and i am still working but i feel i need to change the job. I feel at times i do too much. I've distanced myself from a lot of things and some people feel I've become so anti social but they don't know what i feel if i either sit or go out and spend lots of time standing. I hope you feel better and get some comfort during the painful times we go through

Never heard of post traumatic. Is that common? I have pain in back, ankles, and neck - diagnosed with Spondylo arthritis. Traumatic death of husband in 2019.
Have found acupuncture helpful although expensive to keep up - deep breathing also been good but must say resorting to painkillers more now.
Sorry to hear of widespread pain. recognise it fully.

Oops - looked it up - not emotional trauma but physical!
