Hello Everyone, I am new!
Just registered myself on the site. Looking forward to read others' experiences and helpful tips here. I have osteoarthritis of both knees and left shoulder. I developed early signs of the same some twelve years ago in my early sixties. It's gradually getting worse, as one expects. I am still active that I can still manage a 30 minute brisk walk daily. It is my sleep that gets disturbed on a regular basis, making me wake up due to the pain around the knee joints. Some nights, I need the help of paracetamol. Hoping to know more about pain control tips from you more experienced friends.

Hi @Campanula, welcome to the Online Community! It's lovely to have you here.
I see that you have osteoarthritis of the knees and shoulder and are having difficulty with sleep due to knee pain. I found this page on the Versus Arthritis website with advice for good sleep written by people with the same sort of issue, you might find some of it useful:
I've also included below some general information about osteoarthritis:

Hi…I am a very reluctant user of medication including pain control. I prefer to manage and live with pain. However a convenient with a physio persuaded me that regular if small amounts of paracetamol can help and will not be harmful.
So I take one each morning which certainly cuts down on the pain when I am out and about and another before bed if the pain has become quite bad later in the day,
I was prescribed co-codimol but didn’t like the effect, made me feel bit spaced out.
Amitriptyline can also be used as pain relief and can certainly help with sleep. Obviously that has to be prescribed.
Good luck
