@skyler you might find these useful:
Having read through & tried both, I decided to use the raw ground form of turmeric rather than the expensive extract, as there is little danger of overdosing on the raw form vs the highly processed & concentrated curcumin extract.
Seems to help me but took a couple of weeks to notice a difference.
Def better than ibuprofen which gave me stomach irritation and did my liver function test no favours. (It is a COX-2 inhibitor like ibuprofen, but unlike ibuprofen it does not inhibit COX-1, so no side effects for me).
Hope you find these of some use.

Hi @skyler
Thanks for your post to the Helpline.
Using supplements can be quite hit and miss, so you might want to consider other avenues as well - such as physiotherapy.
Hand and wrist pain | Causes, exercises, treatments (versusarthritis.org)
There's some evidence for turmeric, but the score it gets in our summary of research findings is not terribly high, so you might want to manage your expectations.
If your thumb is really making everyday life difficult, there's always the option of referral to a hand clinic, where there's quite a bit of expertise on offer.
