Newbie
Hi there,
I am Richard and a 61 yr old male.
I was diagnosed with Pagets disease about 4 years ago and as a result of this i have osteoartritis in my lower back, hips neck and left knee.
I have had two infusions to slow and stop the Pagets disease but am suffering badly with lower back pain.
I had a xray last week which showed degeneration of posterior facets joints l1-Si.
My GP has prescribed co-coldamol for my pain and i am still exercising daily .
Any help will be gratefully received.
Cheers Rich

Hi @Numnuts firstly let me welcome you to the forum I hope you find the information and support you are after from our wonderful community.
I can see from your post that you have had Osteoarthritis for a while of the back of pagets disease but you are currently suffering with pain in your back, hips etc. You are currently receiving treatment through co-codamol only and exercise.
The site is full of information and I wanted to signpost you to a couple of links initially to try and help with some tips on how to manage the pain in your back, hips and neck.
Please feel free to search the forum for others with similar experiences and I am sure that some of our community will be able to help offer some useful suggestions.
Take care and I hope you get some relief and answers soon.
Thanks
Joe

Hi. Popping in here to try and find some information about Pagets Bone disorder.
My brother has just been diagnosed with this, along with spur growth on his hip.
Should I get tested for Pagets? I suffer dreadfully with my joints, diagnosed as osteoarthritis.
Just wondered if close family should all get checked?

HI @TraceyJ,
Please click this link to an article on our website that may provide some useful information on Pagets:
I'm afraid I couldn't find anything that helps to answer your question as to whether it is genetic and should you therefore get tested but I hope that there may be another forum member who can advise here. You could also contact our help desk who may be answer the question.
Best wishes
