Hi everyone,

I am in the process of looking to change my car and have driven a manual gear change all my life.

Now having arthritis in my left knee, would an automatic be best or would the exercise of the manual still be the better option.

Kind regard's

    Hi @tabers75

Automatic for sure my knee swells and is very sore using a manual automatic is less stress on the joint it’s much easier too

    good luck

Definitely automatic for me, if your budget can stretch to it get one with adaptive cruise control. My last car did and it really was fantastic, sadly budgets have changed so my old volvo is just an automatic now.

Thanks for your speedy replies, unanimous it's an automatic!

It's interesting that you are having this debate.

Over here "across the pond" manual transmission cars are rare, unless it's some sort of sports job.

Everything here is automatic and cruise control.

I do have an old Volkswagen with manual transmission.

    Cheers,
