Hi, just joined
Hello everyone,
I have rheumatoid arthritis and wondered if anyone has experience of taking sea buckthorn supplements? Did it help inflammation? I’m on methotrexate & folic acid
thanks

Hello @Mariannie, welcome to the online community! It's lovely to have you here.
I see that you're considering taking sea buckthorn as a supplement and wondering whether it helps inflammation. There's some information on the VA website about fish oils and other supplements containing fatty acids (especially omega-3 and omega-6) showing some effectiveness in improving some arthritis symptoms such as morning stiffness. Sea buckthorn is rich in a number of fatty acids so perhaps it could help in a similar way? I couldn't find any previous discussions on the online community about it, but perhaps someone will weigh in with personal experience. Do check with your doctor if you are unsure about taking supplements alongside your medication.
Here's a page with some general information about RA including some tips for managing flare-ups:

Personally, I wouldn't. In fact, it's always safest to check with your pharmacist for interactions before taking any supplements. Here is some info on it https://www.webmd.com/vitamins-and-supplements/sea-buckthorn-uses-and-risks
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Thanks folks, I’ll ask pharmacist when I’m collecting next prescription
