Newly diagnosed with RA
Hello,
I am 57 and newly diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. It all started with swelling in both hands and feet over Christmas. The pain was excruciating. I had a talk with the Rheumatology nurse today and he strongly recommends to take Methotrexate as soon as possible.
Is there anybody with experience in taking this drug? Also I would like to know more about anti CCP results.
Thank you so much for your support.
Sabine

Hi @Sabine firstly let me welcome you to the forum I hope you find the information and support you are after from our wonderful community.
I can see from your post that you have been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis following a period of pain in your hands and feet. It is being advised that you start methotrexate but you are after some experiences of taking it. I understand starting a new medication and having a new diagnosis can be scary, Methotrexate is a common first treatment.
The site is full of information and I wanted to signpost you to some links that could help firstly to a general overview of Methotrexate and then a set of common questions. I also included a link to general information around RA.
Please feel free to search the forum for others with similar experiences and I am sure that some of our community will be able to help offer some useful suggestions.
Take care and I hope you get some relief and answers soon.
Thanks
Joe
