Knees Keeping Me Awake
Hello everyone
I have been a member for a long time but haven't posted for several years.
I suffer mostly with my spine; spinal stenosis, cervical stenosis, DDD, and facet joint arthritis, all of which have gotten much worse over the past few years. But my knees have recently and very rapidly become unbearable, so I was after some advice. They are both painful during the day, but it's nighttime that really becomes impossible, the pain is intense and the only way I can sleep is with Zopiclone, which I can only take occasionally.
I am on cocodamol 30/500 and amitriptyline; I was trialed on Gabapentin but the side effects were horrific so I stopped those, and I can't take NSAIDs. I'm only 53 and feel like I'm 153. I use a walking stick on good days, crutches on bad days, and have a wheelchair for long days out as the spinal stenosis makes standing or walking very painful/impossible.
Is there anything I can do to relieve this pain? I use hot water bottles and heat lotion already, but it's the nighttime pain that's really bothering me the most.
Thank you for reading :)
