I have a date for knee replacement! & questions...
To my amazement I have been given a date of April 4th for a knee replacement- I am stunned as they said a lot longer before. v pleased.
now questions... just how laid up am I likely to be after surgery? I keep poultry and have 6 coops of birds which need letting out in morning, locking up at night and cleaning out frequently which involves standing, bending and a little crouching. I am thinking I am likely going to have to get help in for this.. anyone got any idea how long I'll need help? I do not want to wreck my surgery by doing too much too soon but I need to plan ahead a bit and a rough idea of how long need help would give me a chance to arrange assistance. Garden the coops are in is large and at the moment muddy so not greatest to navigate on crutches.... when I had knee surgery before I managed on my own but I am a bit worried

Hi @sunnyside2
Great news about your date. I attach some information but I am sure there will be members who will be able to share their experiences with you. I think you are wise to consider help for the first few weeks after your operation if only to avoid slipping in the mud and causing damage to yourself!
Best wishes
