Hello everyone. I recently joined Versus Arthritis though I have supported them for several years. I was diagnosed with severe osteoarthritis about four years ago, particularly in the right hip, but beginning in the left hip, and I feel that talking to others in a similar position would be helpful.

I was placed on a waiting list for a total hip replacement two years ago, but I was unable to cope any longer with the pain and lack of mobility so used the private sector and had surgery early September. The relief from pain is lovely, but mobility is taking a lot longer then anticipated, however, I have begun to use the Versus Arthritis exercise videos and hope that they will be useful.

Hi @Telynores firstly let me welcome you to the forum I hope you find the information and support you are after from our wonderful community.

I can see from your post that you have been living with osteoarthritis for a while and recently had hip replacement surgery through the private sector and that you are feeling the recovery is taking longer than expected getting mobility back.

Thank you everyone for your encouragement - I realise that recovery will take time, but it is good to be reminded that I am not alone in this situation. As with anything, little and often!
