Good Morning @herbolive
I am very pleased to meet you. I see you have recently been diagnosed with Osteoarthritis in your knees. I take it from your experience with co-codamol prescribed for your teeth, that you have been using over the counter medications for your knees up until now. Initially GPs are very likely to advise a conservative approach, but there are options out there including non-drug treatments.
Being newly diagnosed I wonder whether some information might be useful for you:
I am disappointed to hear that your recent diagnosis has meant the end of your walking football, but maybe you might be interested in more 'Arthritis friendly' activities to keep mobile?
Best wishes
Ellen.

I would expect co-codamols to help with your knee as well as your tooth @herbolive
If your pain medication isn't doing the job I think you should have a chat with your Dr. or at least the pharmacist to start with.
Most of us here take a painkiller (paracetamol as an example, but there are stronger kinds of pain relief including Co-cos) and a lot use an anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen too. They are also known as NSAIDs or non-steroidal anti-inflammatories. One problem with those is they can affect your stomach with long-term use so those of us who take them a lot are usually prescribed a PPI (proton pump inhibitor) like lansoprazole.
I like to add in some non drug methods too like a warm wheat-bag (the type you put in the microwave or an ice pack (in a tea towel). I have used a tens machine too many many times in the past.
Shame about your walking football the exercise would be good but i can't imagine kicking and twisting would be 😕
take care
