Welcome to the Versus Arthritis online forum and thank you for asking for our support.

You tell us that you have just been diagnosed with osteoarthritis (and tell us elsewhere, that it is affecting hips and feet, and possibly other joints - this was communicated to you by a text, and has left you feeling quite upset).

It is often difficult to receive a diagnosis especially when it is done briefly and in an non-supportive way, without proper context - I entirely understand you being upset.

The Versus Arthritis website contains a great deal of information about osteoarthritis (OA) - particularly about how to manage the symptoms yourself -
