Adult onset stills disease
I was diagnosed with adult on set stills disease just over 10 years ago when I was 19. I went on to have 2 hip replacements at the age of 23. For years my arthritis has been relatively controlled through the use of tocilizumab. However since having my second child I have had more aches and pains and recently been told I have osteoarthritis in both the right wrist and shoulder joint. I guess I’m looking for any advice on caring for young kids whilst having arthritis and speaking to people in similar situations. Also the shoulder diagnosis has just been in the last week so not had a proper appointment so good to know what my options will be in regards to that. Thanks

Hi @nmeldrum09 - welcome to the online community!
I see you've had Adult Onset Stills disease for a while, but you've since been diagnosed with Osteoarthritis on top of this. You're looking for advice on caring for children with arthritis, and specifically for your shoulder.
Having young children myself, I can honestly say that they don't mind! Do the best you can, look after yourself as well as them, and that will definitely be good enough for them. Don't feel you have to try to match what others say, so long as you're loving and the basics are met children are happy. Don't feel bad about asking for support when you need it as well. It's a hard mindset to beat, but it's well worth it.
I found a post from a fair few years ago which might have useful information for you here: https://community.versusarthritis.org/discussion/44082/newbie-looking-after-young-children
I also found a personal story which may help:
Do take a look around the rest of the community and see if there is anthing else you want to join in on or any other questions you want to ask.
