I was diagnosed with arthritis 4 years ago and have been on different meds, recently I was taken off my meds in order to change to something different, that was 2nd December 2021 and appointment mixups Iv not been put back on meds till 25th February this year, to say Iv been in agony is an understatement, Iv called doctors, 111 and had paramedics out because I just couldn’t stand the pain anymore. I had a steroid injection on 25 at my appointment but I’m thinking I was leg too long and feel that the pain is going to go on longer as a consequence. I’m on painkillers and constant hot water bottles and just can’t entertain the idea of going back to work. I feel way beyond my age. I feel useless and old

Good morning @Loulou59 Welcome to the Versus Arthritis Online Community.

I see from your post that you have been off of medication for your Arthritis (Rheumatoid Arthritis) for 3 months and have only had a (depot?) steroid injection while waiting to begin a new treatment regime.

One thing our members all understand is pain and you are clearly in a great deal of pain. Do you have any sort of timescale for starting your new medication?

I am going to attach a link to managing pain I do hope there is something you haven't tried yet which might help a little in the meantime:

I hope there is no pressure on you to return to work until your Arthritis is back under control and hope we can support you here while you are waiting for your treatment to start.

It might help to talk with someone our helpline is here for you:

    Very best wishes

    Ellen.
