Hi everyone, I’ve recently been diagnosed with mild osteoarthritis in both my knees and my big toe joint and Fibromyalgia. I’m in so much pain all the time in one of my legs that I’m convinced something else is wrong. Is it normal for your leg to throb and ache ALL the time? I can’t sit down without putting my leg up as the pressure on the back of my leg from the chair sends pains all the way down my leg. I also get funny pins and needles in my toes and sometimes sharp pains in my heel. My foot feels cold most of the time but not to the touch. I can only get a phone appointment with a dr, although she has referred me to MSK but there is a six month wait! I’m on Amiltriptyline at nighttime which doesn’t take the pain away but knocks me out for a few hours. I’ve had four appointments with a physio, but he didn’t hardly lift his head up to look at me from his computer. He just sent me home with exercises to do. Sorry for the rant but I’m so frustrated!

  • Hi @Jules28uk

Welcome to the online community! It's great to have you here and you are certainly in the right place for a bit of advice and support. I see you have your osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia diagnosis, and are worried about the pain you are experiencing. I have no personal experience of fibromyalgia, however a friend of mine does and has often described her symptoms as you have here. I'm sorry to hear that you have been disappointed with your physio sessions so far, but look at it this way- it's a foot in the door and another professional that you are involved with for now which unfortunately is half of the battle at the minute.

We have links which may be off some interest to you, just to give you a little information or help you to understand a little more for now:

There are plenty of amazing members here on the forum who are willing to lend a listening ear and share their experiences. Please keep talking to us and feel free to look around and join in where you feel comfortable.

    Take care,
