Hi, I am new to the group and would appreciate any feedback from anyone with similar symptoms. Since 9 months ago I have been in and out of hospital with excruciating pain from infections in my bones. The pain continues to flare up repeatedly and I am unable to walk without a frame, becoming homebound until the pain goes away after 4-5 days. On my last visit to the hospital, I was told it is probably Osteoarthritis and as I was not showing any signs of infection in my bones, I was duly discharged. I have been prescribed various types of painkillers but nothing eases the pain I go through. My GP has now prescribed Naproxen but when I have a flare up, this still does not ease this excruciating pain that makes it difficult to even get out of bed. In between flare ups, I am quite active, avoiding lifting heavy things. I am sure someone out there must be going through this?

Welcome to the online community so gla d you found us.

You say that as from 9 months ago you have been experiencing excrutiating pain from infection in your bones.the pain continues to flare up repeatedly so much so you can only walk with a frame.You were also told it could be Osteoarthritis and even though on Naproxin it does not ease the pain.

You should by now have a pain relief that can help,maybe another visit to your GP could help your course and they can find a suitable pain relief other than Naproxin.

Thank you for your help. I will certainly look into other types of arthritis and discuss with my GP.
